I wonder where the above Susannah fits?
I was tracking 2 daughters of Ann Giesler of Sullivan Co. who left there in the company of 2 Houston men. Elizabeth Ellison Giesler b. 1803 and her sister Catherine Giesler b. 1810 in Adams Co., PA - daughters of Ann Giesler. Ann Giesler came to Sullivan Co., TN with her father Adam Giesler abt. 1815 and her brothers and sisters, one sister being Barbary Giesler married to Henry Hysinger.
Ann Giesler's two daughters had children already when they met up with the Houston brothers, John and Jeremiah Dungan Houston (who also had families).
This illustrious group took off for Iowa before the 1850 census and are found in Poweshiek Co., Iowa on that census. Records of that county show that the winter there that year was bad and we find that of the Houstons, only John and his children are found later back in Sullivan Co. His wife Elizabeth having died. Catherine Houston is on a tax list in 1852, but not seen afterwards.

Also living next to the Houston families in Poweshiek Co., Iowa and associated with them in 1850 and 1852 is William Harkleroad b. 1805 and his wife Susannah Hysinger b. 1807. They have ch: Elizabeth, George, James, Wesley & Margaret plus one other son born in 1851, William Ernest Harkleroad. By 1860 this family is found in Washington & Oregon. William Harkleroad died in 1855 and Susannah Hysinger Harkleroad remarried 9 July 1857 in Columbia Co., OR to Posey Williams and they lived in Clark Co., WA in 1860 census. There was one child born to them, Henry Williams. Susannah's other children married and lived in both Washington State and Oregon and descendants found there today. Susannah's maiden name is listed on her marriage record to Posey Williams.
I'm still tracking the children's families and those of the Houstons. I feel Susannah Hysinger belongs in the Henry Hysinger family somewhere, just not sure where.
