FIRE DESTROYED HY.HYNE HOME
Origin of early morning fire unknown; est loss $4,000

Fire from an unknown origin this morning at 2:15 reduced to a total loss the residence building and contents of Henry Hyne ,the Cougar Gulch saw mill man, at 725 Second Street. There was no one in the building at the time. The building and the woodshed to rear were fully ablaze before neighbors were aware of it, and when the fire department was notified the property was beyond hope of saving. Owing to the building being situated in the middle of a long block and a considerable distance back from the street, it was necessary for the dept to return to headquarters for a hose reel in order to run two leads.
Mr. Hyne was working around the place yesterday afternoon, returning to Cougar Gulch, where the family was staying for the night.
The building was two stories modern and well furnished. The value of the entire property was estimated at $4,000. It is understood there was partial insurance.
