Hello Dan:
My neighbour's great-grandfather was Robert (Bob) HYNDS, born about 1860 and married to Jennifer (Jennie) (surname not known). Bob died in NZ in 1929 age 69; Jennie died in NZ in 1952 age 85. I have been unable to accurately trace their origins in Ireland and their time in Canada and/or USA. Of their eight children, four were born overseas (William James, Jessie Letitia, Mary, and Robert); and four in New Zealand. William's death in 1925 was registered with the U.S. Embassy in Wellington, NZ with the remark "Not proved that deceased was American citizen at time of death. Had been in New Zealand for 25 years."
Do you know the name of the ship that brought them to New Zealand in June 1900?
Any information would be appreciated.
