Hello one and all.
after many years of growing up and thinking that Hyndman was german i have come to find out the orgins are not german. Thinking that it is german shows how much my Hyndman side knew who they were. There is german though from my grandmothers last name. I am checking on how she spelled it. Eckard. Anyway, I have an aunt who believes it is german but i have through the years became skeptic of this because of language and knowing just by the way it sounds says it's not. I like to know the orgin of this last name. I have read somewheres of it from N. Ireland and I also read about Henry Mayers Hyndman from Britain. I've seen the file submitted by mick but I like to know for sure that this is definatlly where the orgin is from. If Hyndman is a different spelling then i have relatives way back when with different last names. No wonder Hyndmans are not in history books....Also the correct pronouncation. Some would say Hyndman as Hind i guess with the y being a short i as in the word in. We pronounce it as High. The i being long. Hi, High... which was it? I've notice i can supply and attachment. I will add one from the surname book about Hyndman which i had to find under Hind.
You see i'm tired of all of these stories. I was told that my sixth great grandfather is suppose to be Zachary Taylor, 12th president of the US. This would be from my mothers side. I know how common of a name Taylor is. I like to clear up any of these rumors or stories and know for sure. Thanks
Peace and Love always
