Hybargers, Hybergers, Highbergers in MD

I'm another descendant of the Conrad Hyberger clan from Sharpsburg, MD and would be interested if anyone has traced Conrad back prior to the 1790's. My great-grandfather was Nathan Highberger who was a son of John and grandson of Conrad. Most of Nathan's children moved to Washington D.C. at the turn of the century and changed their name to Heiberger.

Becky: My Hybargers are concentrated in Greene County--but rumour has it that Conrad is back there in the tree as one of my direct descendants--any chance you can share from Conrad down? I have a David Hybarger who I think is the father of Joseph who was born in 1805 and married to Kathryn Dearstone. Anything sound familiar?

Debbie and I are searching the same family and I'd love to have the connection to Conrad, too. I think this branch of Hybargers that were in MD started in Pennsylvania. It seems to be the way the Germans migrated. Please keep me in the loop, too.

I too am from David through his son Abraham. I can prove the family back to marriage in 1752 in PA. I really need to prove that David was the father of Abraham, I have everything else including the birth of David in 1765. I will be in TN in October. Would love to learn more about the family.

Hello Fran,
would you send me any information on David Hybarger/Highbarger and supply me with the proof you have linking them to PA?

I would be glad to send you info. I have marriage of Conrad in 1752, where he lived in Shafferstown, PA and proof of death in Washington Co. I even found baptism of wife in 1733 and proof of most of the children's births.

I am away right now and will try to get things together. I might have to use US mail since most of my stuff is papers and not computer generated.

Some of the stuff such as tax records prior to 1760 I found on line.

Part of the problem with finding records is everyone says they were in Washington Co, MD. Yes, they were but beginning records are in Frederick Co, MD. I have deeds and a lot of Washington Co material. I have Conrad Jr in Stauton VA with his brother Abraham and I think his brother John too and I have followed some of these families to IL.

I come from David in TN and can go from their forward.

What are especially looking for.

Fran

Hi Fran,
Thanks for replying to me post. I am trying to link David Hybarger to Conrad, but i am also trying to link that line with my line of Highbargers that moved to PA from Germany in the 1700's.
Could you send the information on Conrad, his wife and children.
If you have to use USPS i can provide you with my address from my personal email account.

John,

send your email address to genealogy45@yahoo.com and I will send you what I have. It might not be the actual document, I will have to mail them, but I can tell you dates, places and where I found the info.

Also which David do you want to link. If you mean the son of Conrad that went to TN that is my line. If you mean another David, I might have that too.

Suprisingly, it was something I found on Ancestry that sent me on the search to Lancaster Co., and there they were.
