My uncle, Daniel Gilmore, who has been deceased for over 10 years now, had a listing for a HARRY (BUD) and ALBERTINE HYATT living on Woodbine Dr, Portage, Mi, in his address book. So far I've found that any persons living in Michigan in his address book are related (although most are deceased). My uncle, who lived in California, was born in Montcalm County, Michigan, as were most of the earlier Gilmores. His mother's maiden name was Lyons; she was also from Michigan. Any information on Harry/Albertine would be appreciated. Kris (Gilmore) Butchart

Surnames: Hyatt, Brower, Jeffries
There were indeed Hyatts in Montcalm County MI, and my paternal great-great grandmother was an Esther Ann Hyatt before she married John Brower. John Brower seems not to have gone to live in Montcalm Count MI (another story), but his wife did with their children in 1874.

It is likely that those Hyatts are or were related to her, perhaps giving her some assistance in the move. Safe place to get away from an abusive husband with relatives already in place? Her aging mother Esther Ann Jeffries Hyatt followed along.

(From all that I have heard about my grea-great grandfather, I have come to despise him).

Esther Ann Hyatt was born in Oswego County NY in 1826 and had a brother James Edward who ended up in Petoskey and a sister Lucy.

Kristie,

Uncle Bud and Aunt Teen (Harry & Albertine) were my Great Aunt and Uncle. They moved back to Michigan from California the 1960s and built their home on Woodbine.

Have you had any responses? What kind of information are you looking for?
