YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Noah H. Hurd, 86, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014.
Noah was born in Norton, Virginia, on Jan. 21, 1928, and worked for Superior Beverage for 39 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 377, Youngstown, Ohio, where he was shop steward for many of those years.
He enjoyed watching Nascar, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.
He served in the U.S. Army and loved his Bluegrass and country music records.
Noah is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Mary Lou Johngrass, whom he married on April 11, 1951; a son, Gary (Kathy) Hurd; two daughters, Linda (John) Stanec and Karen (Don) Bell; four grandchildren, Michelle (Bryan) Zajic, John III (Nicole) Stanec, Jessica (Joseph) Meyer, and Erica Hurd; and a great-grandson, Casey Van Meyer.
His family and friends will always cherish their memories of Noah as one of the best husbands, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed dearly.
A private family memorial will take place.
