The Family of Anna Mae Hupp (1881-1937)

Classification: Query
Surnames: HUPP ANDREWS
Family of Chas T Andrews (1866-1951) & Anna Mae Hupp (1881-1937)

Grandfather: Charles Thomas Andrews - b.1866 d.1951
Grandmother: Anna Mae Hupp (Andrews) - b.1881 d.1937

I have a very limited family history and am attempting to learn more. The following are their known children:

Jesse A Andrews - b.1907 d.1978 (?)
Leo E Andrews - b.1909 d.1968
Robert L Andrews - b.1917 d.1965
John M Andrews - b.1921 d.1979 (my father)
Charles T Andrews - b.1923 d.1971
"Betty" Andrews (Hagan) -

My understanding is that Betty was not her first/real name, but the name she was known by.

I am also of the understanding that there were one and perhaps 2 other children who died very young. The names I have are:

Narcissus Andrews - (named after Anna Mae Hupp's mother - Naricussus Sigler)
Clarence Andrews - (no known information)
Dorothy Mae Andrews - b.1913 (?)

Additionally, I am seeking information on her husband, Charles T Andrews (1866-1951). My understanding is that he was an ornamental plasterer and left Chicago prior to or during the Great Depression, in look for work. He died and was buried in California.

My father related to me that he and his brother "Bobby" (Robert) quit school and sold newspapers in downtown Chicago during the Great Depression to help Anna support the family. Sister "Betty" and brother "Chuck" (Charles) were younger than my father and stayed in school/at home. The older siblings were living lives on their own at that time.

Anna died when my father was about 16 years of age. I am unsure of who raised my father, Betty and Bobby after she died. When my father was older, he worked on an ice wagon, before eventually becoming a local truck driver in Chicago.

My understanding is the family was spread out from Chicago to Colorado to California.

If anyone has information on the family of Charles T Andrews / Anna Mae Hupp, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks.
