Hi,

My Hulme "clan" settled in Pawtucket, Rhode Island at about 1913. My Gr. Grandfather John and his children show up in the Pawtucket and Central Falls City Directory in 1916. I have made copies for any of the years that were available in the local libraries.

1916, 3 George Hulmes appear as follows:

George machinist h 63 Appleton Av
George h 7 Merrick St
George E molder bds 38 Mason St

John W salesman h 7 Merrick St

At this time wives and non working minors were not noted.

1918
George (7 Merrick) died April 10, 1918

John W and a George A. continues to appear at 7 Merrick until 1941.

This may be when they moved from Pawtucket.

In 1956
John W appears again at 7 Merrick St landscaper until 1985.

These directories are not without errors, but for the most part give a good hint for searches. Most of the Hulmes that appear in this directory year after year are from my clan. My Gr. Grandfather, John came from Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire.
