I realize your post is quite old but it appears we're researching the same (or near same) Hughes family line. I am just beginning to research my own Hughes family that shows my gr-grandmother, Elmira/Almira Hughes, born in Meigs Co., OH about 1848, moving to Wood Co., WV and marrying my gr-grandfather, Lewis Holtz. I'm trying to prove Everett Hughes' relationship to my Hughes family, however, his wife, Laura Burd, is my 1st cousin, 3x removed through my Sams family line.
