I am seeking information on John Hughes who was born in County Louth Ireland about 1811. His partner was Anne Gallagher and they had at least eight children between 1847 and 1864. The children were Walter (1848) Henry (1849) Margaret (1851) Peter (1853) Anne (1855) Maryanne (1847) Susanna (1859) and John James who was born in July 1864.

All the children were baptised at Lordship Catholic Church in County Louth. Although the children were baptised Catholics, it is understood that John Hughes who died in 1907 may not have been a Catholic.

Walter married Catherine Savage in 1876 at Grange Catholic church in County Louth. Margaret married Patrick Hanlon in 1877 at Lordship Catholic church and I have details of her six children. Maryanne married Patrick Eccleston in 1886 at Lordship Catholic church and I have particulars of her seven children. This family lived in Carlingford County Louth.

John James Hughes first married Bridget McArdle at Cooley Catholic church County Louth in 1887 and she bore him five children before she died in 1894 He married Catherine Finnegan in 1895 at Cooley Catholic church County Louth and 13 children by her. She died in 1916 after the birth of the last child Simom Matthew Hughes.
