Ripley and Evans WVa area.I have nearly 20 names of Hughes and not many dates. Grt Grandfather DOB 1835? William (Web) Hughes ,father of Job DOB 1865?(wife Nancy) and Charles (aka Spike),Wade,HOLLY,and daughters Dora,Delpha sp?,and Ella,who married Jon Fox of Ripley.
Job had sons Alva DOB 1914 and youngest (my father),James(aka Print),Lester,Leo,Leonard,Orland(aka Hoby)and daughter Dolly who married man named Landis.Most/all are from Evans.Several migrated to Columbus,Ohio area in 1930's.Many earlier Hughes buried at Creston Chruch Rt 87 near Evans.

Also some murky connections are my fathers 1st cousin Cliff Hughes,and his brothers Don,Blake,and sister Blanche.They were children of HOLLY (wife Lettie Sayre?)

Looking for info on Henry Harrison Hughes and Miriah Nicholas. Married in Mason Co. West, VA

Anyway, have not seen a Henry in my line.Just to make things more difficult,Jackson Co was formed in 1831 from parts of Kanawha,Wood and Mason Co's.You may have to expand your search to all 3 Co's based on Henry's DOB

As of Oct, 2009. an independant film co. is shooting a film on Jesse Hughes, the noted Indian fighter and scout. Time frame mid to late 1700s. Next shoot is Coonskin Park near Charleston WV, Oct 18, 2009. Web site isn't up yet, but should be soon. Movie will be vavailable May, 2010.
