Hello Lili, I don't know whether you have had any response, but I am also interested in Baron Adolph von Hugel. I live on a street in Midland Ontario that is named after him. Although born in Germany, he is listed in some sources as being from Pittsburgh. It could be that he was involved in the railway there too. This may be where his children were born. Our town shows him as forming the Midland Land Company with George Cox, who later succeeded him as president of the Midland Railway Corporation of Port Hope. George Cox was from Peterborough, and a life insurance agent... and in 1900 became president of the Life Insurance company. I am sure that you must have much more information than I have.
