My link to Heu (pron Hoy) is the son of Fred and Wilhelmina Hue Hansmeyer from Lippe-Detmold, Prussia, Germany. Henry was born 3 November 1833.
In 1849, Fred and Wilhelmina took passage for America and landed in New Orleans after a 7-week voyage. The family came up the Mississippi to St. Louis where Wilhelmina and one child died of cholera after being there one week. Fred and 4 children came to Chicago where Henry was attacked by cholera and confined to the house for 2 weeks, later he joined his father and 4 other children in Watertown (section of Chicago?) and it was near there that Fred died about 1 yr later, being then in middle life.[Bio Review of Cass, Schuyler and Brown Cnts, IL pub 1892]
Henry is the 2nd of the 4 sons. He was married in Beardstown, Cass Cnty, IL (US) on 20 Nov 1857 in Beardstown to Catharina Schmidt b. 13 July 1836 in Hesse-Darmstadt, Prussia, Germany. Her parents were Pastor George and Kate Schmidt.
If these people are in your tree, I'd be glad to supply more anecdotal history.
