Melvin
Hudson, 68, a resident of Ocean
Shores the last 12 years, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, in the
Grays Harbor Health & Rehabilitation Center at Aberdeen.
He was born Oct. 3, 1935, at
Dallas,
Texas, to
Elton K. and Patricia (Allen)
Hudson. He lived in
Dallas until he was 15, when he decided to see the United States.
He settled in Seattle, where he married Sandra Diane
Hancock on Sept. 19, 1987, in Seattle. They lived in
Queen Anne from 1988 until moving to Ocean
Shores.
Mr. Hudson began his own business, Mel's Yardwork, in 1987 in the Seattle area, then continued it when he moved to Ocean
Shores. He was known for his hard work, love and attention to what he did.
He also enjoyed walking on the beach with his wife, who survives him at Ocean
Shores.
Other survivors include a son and daughter, Marvin and Rebecca, both of Ocean Shores; a stepson, Phillip
Hancock of Ocean Shores; three step-grandchildren and three brothers.
A funeral was scheduled for 3 p.m. today Thursday, March 4, at Evergreen Mortuary & Cremation in Aberdeen.
