Classification: Query
Surnames: HUDDLESTON, HAMILTON, HOWES, YORK and HARRISON
One of Hansford and Margaret Huddleston's daughters was named Eleanor or Ellen.
Eleanor Huddleston Hamilton and Jason Hamilton (who married 15 Dec 1814 in Bourbon Co. KY) were my 3rd great-grandparents. I descend from their daughter Ruth HAMILTON and Wm. W. HOWES who married 18 Dec 1845 in Nicholas Co. KY. Ruth and William's son, John Thomas HOWES (my great-grandfather), was born 13 Oct 1849 near Carlisle in Nicholas Co. KY.

Not long after 1850 widow Eleanor Huddleston Hamilton traveled from KY to Hancock Co. IL with her daughter's family to join others in Wm. Howes' family who had already moved to that area. "Elen Hamilton, d. 8 Sep 1876, 78 yrs 10 mos 6 days" is engraved on her tombstone in the Green Plains Cemetery in Wilcox Twp., Hancock Co. IL where she is buried near her daughter and son-in-law.

A number of years after the 1914 death of John Thomas HOWES, his remains were moved from Green Plains Cemetery to the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton IL where he is buried with his wife Mary Frances YORK who lived until 1942. John and Mary Frances Howes' daughter, Ida Belle Howes, married George Washington HARRISON in 1895 and they were my maternal grandparents.
