Huddell and other "variant" spellings

I'm an active researcher of the Hittle/Hittle family name.

As I research my name, I find various different places where what looks to have "evolve" into either Hittle or Hittel may well have derived from the German "Huettel."

And, I've also occasionally found places where it looks like other lines than mine may have adopted the Huddell, Huddel, Hudel, Huddle, Huddler, or some other similar variant Englishized version of the name.

What I'm very much interested in is a family of "Hittles" which emigrated from Massachussetts to the Upstate New York areas in the early to mid 1800s.

Has anyone here been able to ascertain the immigrant who established the Huddell line in Massachussetts? I'm not finding "him" and was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks
