Have been researching this family in Russia. My husband's family migrated to the lower Volga area in 1767 from Germany on the promise of a better life from Catherine the Great. Unfortunately, it was a tragic affair from about 1870. They migrated to Kansas in 1905. Does anyone have any information about the Village of Huck or family names of Phillip Huck, Maryliss Wyant,George Bohl? These names are as far back as I have been able to verify (abt 1800-1835).As you all know, you can't research in Germany without a village or town name. This is where I am stuck as there is no mention of where they migrated from. In 1763 there were aprox. 1900 independant, sovereign states in Germany.Does anyone have any ideas regarding the origen of this family? It would be a shame to let this bold and courageous family go into oblivian. There must be a common ancestry at some point for all of us. Thanks for reading about my frustration. Sincerely, Jody Huck
