My name is Ooi Peng Eng (Huang Bing Yong). I am a Malaysian now residing in Kuala Lumpur.

My father hailed from the village of Xiamei in Hui'an. He came over to Penang in the 1920s to be with my grandfather who had then a trading business between Penang/Butterworth and southern Thailand. My father married my mother (who was born in Penang) but her family too is also from Xiamei, Hui'an. Her family name is Kang (Jiang).

According to the Xiamei's Genealogy records, I am the 22nd generation in line from the village founder Huang Wen Gong (Ooi Boon Kong), who came to Hui'an towards the end of the Yuan (Mongol) dynasty. Through the help of Mr. Erik Huang from this forum, I further learned that the Huang lineage from Xiamei is descended from the second branch of the Ziyun Clan (from the lineage of Huang Jing, the second son of Huang Shougong (b.AD629), the Progenitor of the Ziyun Clan).

I hope this information will provide some help to those wishing to know more about the Ziyun Huangs from Xiamei, Hui'an.
