Hi,
I am looking for any Huangs who have their ancestor chinese poem. My brother and sister both have shen as our middle name and my dad's uncles aunts all have chi as their middle name. My dad told me that there is a poem somewhere that is a middle naming method for most of my past generation. Can anyone help me?

I also, have the last name Huang.
However, my middle name is Shuo (book).
I also heard of the family poem as well, but do not know exactly how it goes, except I think there is 12 different middle names. So if anyone know anything about this, please inform me as well.

'Know' ? That does not make any sense, fool.
It's 'knows', come on now, anybody know'S'
that. Oh yeah, by the way, "ALL YOUR BASE ARE

I am not sure what type of person has the time to correct grammar of messages that were posted many months ago, but I find it a little strange and I am not sure how this little grammar fix, applies to what is the matter at hand. If you have never made a typo or any small grammar mistakes, then you have the authority to mock, otherwise you do not.

hi dennis! i'm originally Huang myself, third generation chinese in southeast asia. from what i understand it would help if you knew which home-province / home-town in mainland china your grandfather came from, that way you can trace the location of that chinese poem. in my case, by the time it came to our generation, our parents did not follow that poem anymore, though i know that my generation should have been named Zheng (Zheng = straight, upright).

hope you find that poem :)

Hai Dennis, hai everybody of Huang family.

My family name is Oey, my full name is Oey Kiat Boe,( Same Huang = Yellow, but Oey, may be of Hokian dialect))
I am also looking for relative/family of the same root.
I am the 4th generation of Oey family in Jakarta, Indonesia, and my son ( 5th generations)bears the "Chun" middle name.
FYI, My father's middle name is : Bie (=rice),Oey Bie Dhian, born: in Semarang, central Jawa on 1900.
My Grand father middle name is : Tiang, Oey Tiang Lip.
My great Grand father, middle name is : Tjeng (Cheng),Oey Cheng Oen.
I dont know my Great Great Grand fathers name,he is the one who initially came to Indonesia. and how many brothers/sisters my Great G.f and my Grand father have.
Should anybody from Oey( Huang) family have the same ancestors middle name, perhaps we are of the same roots, I wish to contact each other to exchange info?
Thank you.

My father stopped following the chinese poem in his generation. But his middle name was "Hong" (宏) which means great or magnificent.

I myself am unsure how to read my family chinese poem, and how to figure out what middle name mine should have been. I am not fluent in reading chinese, but I am able to read most words. If only someone could tell how to read it and figure out what I'm supposed to be looking for in it.
