There are two clippings included in the single image file attached. One is a story dated July 2, 1961, about how Petronella Hrycyk gave a gift of several thousand dollars to her Ukrainian National (Eastern Rite, also called Byzantine Rite) Catholic Church to be used to buy altar furnishings of gold, bronze, and silver after her death. "Several" could mean anything from three or four thousand on up, but probably less than ten. To understand the value of such a gift, realize that $1,000 in 1960 is equal to $5,817 in 2000 (or $6,216 using the Consumer Price Index). See:

The article contains much personal and genealogical detail. The other bit pasted into that image is a partial copy of one of her obits. I have the full text of two obits below. "Died Friday" means May 1, 1959.
In the attached 1961 clipping, the phrase "she at once resigned herself" is a compliment from her priest, meaning that in her final illness, she decided it was God's will that she die, and did not fight it or complain. She was born in the Ukraine and then lived in Chicago.
Among the details in the 1961 newspaper article is the fact that she married two HRYCYK brothers. First she married Alex, but "was left a widow rather early in life." Then (apparently much later) she married his brother Peter, who survived her. Her daughters are Alex's children. Polk Brothers, where her daughter Georgiana worked, was a major furniture retailer with stores throughout the Chicago area.
I found her first husband Alex HRYCYK listed in the Illinois Statewide Death Index. He is listed as a white male, dying March 6, 1934, at the Chicago State Hospital in Cook County. Death Certificate #: 0160746. Peter was not in the ISDI, but might be found in Social Security records.
