I was interested to read your thread about Hrobar and Strba families. My grandmother was Elizabeth Ougheltree who emigrated to the U.S. (about 1910) was married (about 1915) had a daughter (1917) and widowed (about 1919). She later remarried to Charles Ougheltree a few years later. No one in my family knows her maiden name or the name of her first husband. However research makes us think her maiden name was Strba (daughter of George and Anna). She and her daughter are listed as Elizabeth Shurin (daughter) and Beatrice Shurin (grandaughter) in the 1920 census along with the rest of George and Anna's family.
As a child, I remember visiting my grandmother who sometimes had guests intoduced to me as "Aunt Kate (Katie) and Marie. The name Hrobar sticks in my memory; I wonder if your Katerina Strba Hrobar was the woman introduced to me as "Aunt Kate". If that is true, evidence suggests that Elizabeth Ougheltree and Katerina Strba were sisters. However, Katerina's emigration date (3/1/1904) if correct, doesn't fit with George (sr) in 1910, Anna + 4 children in 1910, or George (son) in 1907.
I wonder if you know of a connection between Elizabeth Ougheltree and the Hrobar family or if Elizabeth Ougheltree was in fact Elizabeth Strba.
Thanks for any information you might add!
