My grandfather Anton/Antonin came from a large family in Cheznovich in 1891 settling in Pittsburgh. At least two brothers were in Pittsburgh at the turn of the century. Alois Hrabak , his brother had a son Alois Jr who was a musician playing flute in the first symphony in Pittsbugh. I would appreciate any information on these or other relatives in the area.

I think that my grandfather Alois Hrabak might be the person you asked about who played in the Pittsburgh Symphony. I took flute lessons from him as a child in his studio in downtown Pittsburgh.

Yes, this is the Alois I am related to. I heard a few stories but have no information on him after he married. Alois father was my grandfather's brother. His name was Antonin and lived in North Braddock. I would love to share information with you. Please contact me at bestgma@earthlink.net. Looking forward to hearing from you.
