I was wondering if you know more about your Scottish roots. I ask this because the family tradition in my Scottish line is that an Uncle in the line was knighted. My family came from Glasgow as well..and my g grandfather went to S Africa because of the Boer War. He did return to Scotland.
Can you give me any more info on this family? I have my line traced back to c 1745. The oldest ancestor lived in Strathmartine (Dundee) but then descendants went to Edinburgh and then to Glasgow (most stayed in the Maryhill area in Glasgow)
