I am looking for anyone searching for Hoy's in these counties. I have done extensive searching and have found many branches of the Hoy's in Angus (Dundee-Strathmartine-Hilltown-Baldovan etc)the oldest ancestor there says he was born and lived all his life in Strathmartine (born c 1768) In his will he lists his children. 2 generations later, one child went to Midlothian (Edinburgh-Cannongate etc) and a few generations later some went to Glasgow.

I have compiles info on many of the children. Many stayed in the same trade as their ancestors (Tailors) and all of the Hoy's that died in Angus from 1855-1887 are related. So I am guessing that all from this area in Angus/Dundee are related.

I would love to make more connections. I have yet to find anyone tracing this same line of the family. Common names are Peter, James, Jessie, Alexander, William, George (LOL-I guess they are common in any family).
