I am looking for information on Gustav Hornecker. He was born in Baden, Germany around 1844. He came to the United States around 1866 and settled in Allegheny Co., Pa. He later moved to Beaver Co., Pa.

Hej there, some years passed since the last reply was made in here. The reason why I bump this is I have new information.

Vern provided the information that Jakob Hornecker (1790-1861) is the son of Jakob Hornecker (1759-1782), without providing a death date. I looked the DOD up and found 1782, which is at least one year too early to conceive his son.

I checked all church records and found the mistake: Jakob Hornecker (1790-1861) is indeed son of Jakob Hornecker, but the one born 1753 and died 1814.

She was the younger sister of Alfred H. Koch b. 7/18/1893 in Geneseo IL and d. 4/13/1985 in Van Meter IA. He still has decendants living in the area.

Laura Catherine Koch was b.9/4/1898 and in Geneseo IL. Her mother, Catherine Hornecker died in childbirth. She was then raised by her grandfather George Jacob Hornecker of Hencry Co., IL

I have never found a marriage or anything else on her.

I would suggest you look up page 37, 38, and 39 of the History of Henry County for information on this line. Also look up page 209 and 210 of the same book for information on his son Edward Henry Hornecker.

I have an Edward J. Hornecker, who married Lulu (Allen),they lived in Hancock Co.,IL, then on to CA. They had two children Helen and Clifford. I also have pics of the family.

Looking for a Phebe Hornecker (I have come across various spellings) who married John W. Rockwell. Her father was John and her siblings were Francis, Elizabeth and Diantha. In 1840-1850 they were in Lysander, Onondga Co, New York.

Is there any one on this list who would be a descendent of Cecelia Hornecker who married John S Harmon? I believe they married 1887 in Kansas.
I am searching for information on the Harmon family as my husband is a descendent, John and Cecelia would of been a great aunt and Uncle to him.

If anyone out there has a Mary / Maria ( Wendt ) Koch & or a Ludwig / Lewis Koch her husband, in their research would sure appreciate pointing me in said direction.
Both I believe were from Prussia, Bn. 1840's or 50's, had a son named Lewis also, who was born in ILL. & married a Hornecker & upon her death a Beck. Again .... . Thank You.

Hi Annette, I appreciate hearing from you. Please let me know how we are related.
My ggrandmother Luise Hornecker came to the US from Eichstetten, Germany with my grandfather and his brothers and a sister. When they arrived in the US, they went to Henry County Ill. (near Rock Island) and stayed with brothers or half brothers of Luise a few weeks before migrating to Nebraska.
We descendants know nothing about those Horneckers who settled in Illinois, And I've not had time to do much research on this branch.

That's what I was thinking Hornecker is not a common name and we all must be related. I am not sure when my Dad's Dad died. What I remember that he died when my Dad was young. My Dad is 92 yrs. old as of last Sept. 14th of this year.

I am trying to do genealogy on my Dad's side of the family. My Dad's name is Charles LeeDale Hornecker. He was born Sept. 14th 1908 in Fredrick, Oklhoma. His Dad's name was Charles also. Adolph Hornecker

My wife's grandfather was Adolph Hornecker, born 22 Oct 1889 and died around 1980. His father was William Hornecker and mother was Emma Herrkchel. Adolph lived in NY and CT. He and his wife had two daughters, Margaret and Annette. Annette just died this month. I don't have much more right now but would love to share info if anyone is interested.

My husband's mother was Meriam Edith Hornecker, Dale's sister. I haven't spent a whole lot of time on the Hornecker's but believe that they immigrated from just outside of Freiburg, Germany - a little town called Eichstetten.

I do have an old photo of Dale's grandparents and their children.

Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Paul Hornbaker, presently living in Boise, Idaho.I believe the Hornbakers came from Baden, Germany in the late 1600's and settled over here. I believe they might have settled in Germantown which is just north of Philadelphia. The Hornbakers did settle in New Jersey, Sussex county in the early 1700's. At the turn of the 18th century the Hornbakers moved to the Scranton area of PA. eventually settling in Madisonville(Lackawanna county). Im sure all the spellings of Hornbaker etc etc are related. Does anyone have any information about the Hornbakers-I would really be pleased if it were passed on.

I am researching the HAARNACK family were harp makers and musicians in Marylebone, Middlesex.
The earliest family member has been recorded as Christian HAARNACK born in 1774 (probably in the parish of St Pancras) and married at St Martins in the Fields Westminster in 1807. His eldest son was .Henry HAARNACK was born on 1808. At this time Christian and Sarah HAARNACK were living in Tottenham Street and he was Chief Mechanic at the ERARD factory in Great Marlborough Street.
I want to find further information about Christian HAARNACK and establish who his parents were.
Business records for HAARNACK harps were still in existence in the mid 1960s and I would to find them.

My Horneckers Johann and Margarothe Nielhost Hornecker both born in Germany. Migrated aroound 1847 to New York. Had a daughter Barbara and I believe two sons Bernhard and George. There may have been more Barbara was my g grandmother. She married Joseph Hoer in 1857 about and they had three daughters Elizabeth, Catherine and Annie. I am not sure if they had a son. My Great Aunt Myra (Mira) Flinn (Flynn) married August Hornecker before 1923. They lived in the Sandy, Clackamas County, Oregon area. Aunt Mira died in 1958. I don't know anything about them, if they had children, when August was born or died, no photos. My uncle told me that Mira was bedridden. This is all that I know. We are having a family reunion soon and I was hoping to have something to add about this family.

George Hornecker (Illinois and Wisconsin) - b. abt 1906

In case anyone is trying to find George Hornecker, born abt. 1906 in Illinois. He is a foster son of Herman Knuth and his second wife Emma nee Wille. Herman was a Lutheran Minister (WI Synod) for over 50 years in Wisconsin. He was pastor at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Milwaukee from 1892 until his death in 1939. George is listed in the 1910 census, living with Herman and Emma. George is also mentioned as a surviving foster son in Herman's obituary from 1939.

I believe George Hornecker may be related to Herman's first wife, Helena Reichel. Helene was also born in Illinois (1873) and died in Milwaukee in 1902.
