In putting together my Family Tree, I have found a link to John Hooker (1770-1844), father of Rueben, . He married Sylvia Edson, all well documented. However his birth in 1770 is puzzling. I show his mother Mary Scott Hooker to have died in 1765, though the evidence is not overwhelming that this is the case and I don't see that John ever remarried. I think the death year may be incorrect, as I also show a daughter Adah born in Dec of 1765 which while not impossible seems curious.

If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated!
