Charles Gordon Holtz, 82, of Leland, N.C. went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010.
He was born in Parkersburg, W.Va. on Dec. 21, 1927, the son of the late Homer and Gertrude (Sams) Holtz.
Remembered is his wife, Pearl "Penny" Holtz; infant daughter, Hope; and two sisters, Margaret Richardson and Betty Phillips.
Charles was a proud veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. After a long career with Union Carbide in Ohio, he retired and moved to Leland. He and his wife owned and operated the Cloverleaf Mobile Home Park for many years. Charles will be remembered for his humor and his deep devotion to family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Linda Hiehle (T.J.) of Jacksonville, N.C.; Sherry Johnston (Joe) of Belpre, Ohio; Terry Dailey of Leland; Joy Holtz (Mark Cox) of Lisle, Ill.; and Tina Holtz of Fredonia, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Justin Hiehle, Stephanie Tolbert, Geneva Shelley, Jason Cox, Jessica Cox, Ryan Marsh and Jordan Marsh; one great-grandchild, Crystal Rodriguez.
Interment will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington, N.C..
