Looking for descendants of Jochim Friedrich Ludwig HOLST or Joseph HOLTZ, born Aug 30, 1831 in Warnkenhagen, Germany. Joseph came to America about 1850 and lived for a time in Wood Co., WV with his wife, Caroline (SCHMIDT) and their children Emma, Permelia (Amelia), Frank, Fanny Lewis, John and Lucy, all of whom were born in VA/WV. Joseph's first wife, Caroline, died in 1870 in Wood Co., WV and Joseph married Ellen WADE. It is unknown what happened to Ellen. Some time between 1900 and 1910, Joseph and his daughter, Amelia, moved to Red Cloud, Nebraska but it is unknown what happened to the other Holtz children. Amelia married Anthony SCHAFER in Red Cloud and had one known daughter, Anna.
