Raymond G. Hofmann
Raymond G. Hofmann, age 74,
of Erie, died Friday, February 13, 2009 after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born in Erie on September 14, 1934, son of the late Raymond and Katherine Hofmann. Ray was a machinist with American Sterilizer, prior to this retirement. He was a member of American Legion Carl Neff Post #571, St. Mary’s Club, East Erie Turners, Siebenbuerger Club and East 3rd Street Polish Falcons. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, bicycling and bowling. Ray especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include one son, Sean Hofmann (Danielle) of North East; two daughters, Michele Gillin (Patrick) of Johnstown, Pa. and Karen Rizzone (Vincent) of Erie; one sister, Rosemary Bolash (Ronald) of Erie; two brothers, Richard L. Hofmann (Frances) of Erie and Robert D. Hofmann (Martha) of Harborcreek; his grandchildren, Lisa, Jamie, Courtney, Kelsey and Jacob; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two children, Beth and Michael Hofmann; a brother, James F. Hofmann; and most recently his nephew, Douglas Hofmann and his wife Gretchen; plus several other nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 8:30 p.m. conducted by Rev.
