YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mrs. Pauline Dean, 86, departed this life Christmas day, Dec. 25, 2007 at Forum Health North Side Medical Center.
Mrs. Dean was born March 6, 1921 in New Market, Tennessee, (Jefferson County) a daughter of Beecher Hodge Sr. and Ora Martin Hodge.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, its senior usher board, class leader, and Never Rest Club.
Her husband, William Dean Jr., whom she married Feb. 9, 1939, passed away April 7, 1993.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, Peggy Tucker and Virginia Chappell, both of Detroit, Michigan and Patricia Rouse and Delores Dawson, both of Youngstown, OH; two sons, William S. (Earlene) Dean and Donald J. (Sandra) Dean, both of Youngstown; a sister, Phyllis Douglas; two brothers, Beecher Hodge Jr. and Eugene Hodge, all of Youngstown, OH; 17 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 19 great great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hodge; three brothers, James, Joseph and Kenneth Hodge; and two grandchildren, Terrie Dean and Bruce Reed Jr.
There will be services at noon on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at the Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio.
