I have been working on the genealogy of the Heath family updating the material my grandmother, Louise Heath Tunison and Heath cousin, Althea Courtot researched and published in 1977.

I have been looking at Charles Pettit Heath and his descendants. He moved to Philadelphia in the 1790s after graduating from Princeton, married Esther Keely and had 12 children, of which two daughters, Amanda and Fanny married William L. Hobson. Amanda died in Philadelphia in 1845. I have not found a marriage date for William and Fanny (who was a widow), but the 1850 census shows them living in Baltimore. There are records that William was appointed vice consul of Valparaiso in 1840. It does not look like there were any children from either marriage. William is buried in the Heath family crypt at Woodlands Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Amanda and Fanny's sister, Virginia, married Alfred Ward, who was living in Valparaiso at the same time as William.
