Hi Mike,
Do you know where family was in 1880 ? If you do I will look them up on my 1880 census.
I did a quick check in Gates County but did not find them.
Also if you know when children were born that might help. This census has every name index. I can check by last name, date of birth, occupation, state, county, town. etc.
