I wanted to leave an update to anyone in this family who has an interest in testing their DNA. We are working to genetically connect male descendants in a group of families whose spelling or phonetic variations may have previously masked the fact that they are related. We are encouraging those with traceable direct male lineage in any of the listed family names to join us and have their Y-DNA tested.

Our results thus far are exciting and opening new horizons to our family research. We have found several previously unidentified linkages between families and we are looking forward to future discoveries. The most important point is these surnames may ultimately be tied together with common ancestors.

Our results are posted at http://hdhdata.org/hoggdna.html where detailed family lineages are shown along with DNA results. You may also view this data at http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/hogg/ with the simple pedigree page at http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/hogg/pats and the results at http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/hogg/results.

Information on how to join and order discounted tests is available here > http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_det.aspx?group=Hogg
