HNAT, HNATH, ARENDACZKI, MARINCSIN Families from Maly Lipnik
I am a direct descendant of Michael Hnat, born in Maly Lipnik, Saros County, Slovakia. HNAT(HNATH), ARENDACZKI, MARINCSIN Families from Maly Lipnik are in my family tree.
If you are tied in with these families from Maly Lipnik please contact me. I have my family information including data not available at the Family History Library. I am not tied in with the Hnath-Hnath family from Hrabske.
My grandfather Michael immigrated to America and lived in CT. His siblings were John, Mary, Veronica, Joseph and Caroline. Variations of their Hnat surname in America became Hnatt, Knot-Knott. John was a Navy man and married Ann Kanuch and they had daughters Luciana and Helen.
Thankyou,
David

Re: HNAT, HNATH, ARENDACZKI, MARINCSIN Families from Maly Lipnik
My grandfather was a Michael Knott (Hnath, Hnat) from Maly Lipnik (Kis Liprick in his time) born in 1882 or 1892 - I think he took 10 yrs off to find work. He had a brother Joseph and a sister Mrs.Joseph Bortko. He married Susan (Lucachowski) Lucas and had six children before she died in 1925. This branch were/are all in NJ? Do you suppose there's any connection?

Re: HNAT, HNATH, ARENDACZKI, MARINCSIN Families from Maly Lipnik
Lois,
I may have a connection to a Michael Hnat born in Maly Lipnik in the 1840's. He married a Scerbak and they moved to Ujak (now Udol) around 1870. I have Hnat and Scerbak ancestors from Ujak, and I believe that this Scerbak wife may be a direct line to me (and Michael may be also). There marriage record lists him as an orphan. Michael & his wife had about 10 children while in Ujak. Please write back.
Sincerely,
Ray Romanowski

Hi Lois,
Your grandfather Michael Knott (Hnath,Hnat) from Maly Lipnik was not my grandfather but I believe our Hnat families are related.
Your grandfather, Michael Hnath, was born 17 January 1882, baptized 19 January in Maly Lipnik, son of Peter and Helen Gladis.

Re: HNAT, HNATH, ARENDACZKI, MARINCSIN Families from Maly Lipnik
My grandfather Michael cliamed on his application for a Social Security card to be born on 5 May 1882, the same application listed his father as Peter Knott and his mother as Julia Gladis - sounds like the same neighborhood? My grandfather named is first daughter Helen and his first son Peter. Peter and Helen Gladis - Gladis the surname? Was Michael adopted later by a Hnat or Hnath? I'm new at this and realize facts are scrembled. Michael.s third son Charles has a Mary Arendasky listed on his baptismal certificate?

David,

Dave,
I'm confused - I thought you were connected to the CT/PA Hnaths. You have written to my Aunt Kay re: the family. Thanks in advance. Joy
