My mother was a Hluchan, one of 8 children who grew to maturity and had children. According to my uncle John, who wrote up a family history, my grandfather George Hluchan came from a small town, Helcmanovce, in Slovakia in 1899 on a false passport. He started out in the coal mines of Pennsylvania & ended up farming in Colebrook, Ohio. There was no one named Frances anywhere in this branch of the family. My Grandfather's cousin, Joseph Hluchan, from the same town, immigrated to Canonsburg, Pennsylvania--and I have no idea what became of them.
I ran across a Joan Hluchan, at a compuserve address, whose father Stefan was born in 1923 in Slovakia. This seems to be the New Jersey branch. Joan said that her uncle Stephan was still living in Florida in 1996. There was also a daughter and a son Milan. I can't help with your search, but I can elminate the names of my uncle (the only one of 4 still alive) and my male cousins with the Hluchan name: Albert, Dean, John, Steven, Richard (Lukon), Duane, and Gabriel.
