My Grandfather was Karl/Charles Hladky.
He was born in Austria but my Grandmother always said he was Bohemian. She said "The children are what the father is." I guess that would mean that his father was Bohemian as well.
He came to the US in the 1900s. He went first to visit brother Frank who lived in Chicago. There he married Mary Winklemeir who was also a passenger on the same ship.
They moved to Juneau Co., WI where Mary died of T.B. He nexted married my grandmother, Victoria Gawel-Mielneczek who was also a widow. I find Charles on our family data here on the net but never any other info. My Grandfather and Grandmother had children,Mary, Sophia, Nellie and my father, Charles.
I see some common names here.
I also know that Charles had at least one other brother who came to the U.S. I was told that he was a Taylor by trade. My grandfather was first a farmer and later was able to use his trade which he learned in Vienna as a butcher. He owned a small shop.
I have pictures of Rose and Frank Hladky. I believe they lived in later years in Michigan. I would be happy to correspond with anyone who would have information on this line or who would like me to share what I know.
