This is very interesting. I have done quite a bit of detailed genealogical research but there is no mention of an unwed mother. This is something new to add to my list.

Just curious if the Minnie Hitzfeld that you are asking about could have been connected to my mother in some way. My Mother's birth name was Minnie Ethel Hitzfeld and she was born at the Edna Gladney unwed mother's home on 2/2/1921. She is now deceased but while she was alive she was able to find out that her birth parents (for certain her mother) were from Fredericksburg, TX. Through your research of the Hitzfeld family have you found anything regarding an illegitimate child being born in 1921?

Minnie Clara Hitzfeld married Emil Baumann

I am looking for parents of Minnie Clara Hitzfeld (1892-1987) and/or Emil Baumann. Minnie and Emil married in Gillespie County, Texas 18 June 1913. They are later found in the census in Wilson County, Texas. Minnie had an earlier marriage to Harold Smith. They had a daughter, Julia Mae Smith, in Gillespie County 6 June 1911. Some family trees show Minnie Clara Baumann to be the same person as Minnie Hitzfeld Hunnicutt (1892-1957). Obviously, they're not the same person. As shown on her death certificate, Minnie Hunnicutt is the daughter of Frederick Johann Heinrich Hitzfeld and Mathilde Lindeman. Anyone have info on Minnie Clara Hitzfeld who married Emil Baumann?
