Hi

I'm afraid I have not found any more information regarding
Una Claudine and her siblings. It is very difficult to get info on people who may still be alive. Jessie McClintock - Hiscock died after giving birth in 1918 and I believe the child did not survive either but have no evidence as I have not got a transcription of the words carved on this stone (why haven't I chased this - doh!)

Do you have your birth mothers name or the name of her mother. My husbands birth mother was born in about 1931 in Newfoundland. Her name is Claudine Hiscock. I was able to trace her to the 1935 nfld Census. I do have her mother and fathers name and her siblings. If you have any more information send it to me and when I am doing my search if I find anything relevant I will pass it on to you.

terry.korz@sympatico.ca

I have a website hiscock-paquette that has more info

Hello
It is wonderful to hear from you. It took a long time to find out what happened to Jessie McClintock, my husband's aunt. I knew about William's second marriage and children but not anything about his life before he died in 1956. I regret that I have no further information at this time but your post has renewed my interest and I will go back to this research. Please let me know if I can do anything to help you.

I believe he is my husbands grandfather. Born Dec 24 1881 and died July 31/56. Son of George Hiscock and Selina Williams. The 1935 census finds him in Harbour MMain. Married to Marion Elizabeth age 29 with 3 childred Evelyn Tina 5, Malcolm J 4 and Una Claudine 2..Una is my husbands mother, he is trying to get in contact with her. He was adopted at 1 year old. I also have info that may be correct showing William Hiscock married to Jessie Mcclintock Hiscock at Ayr Scotland feb 1917. who died June 12/18 at the age of 20.

If you have any info that will assist me in my search of Una Claudine I would appreciate it.

Hi,
I am Rosemary Rasmussen, Great Granddaughter of William Thomas Pauline and Great Great Granddaughter of Eliza Maria Marlow. I would be extremely grateful for any photos and any information you might have regarding this family as I have very little. William Thomas Pauline appears to have been a bit of a shady character - I believe he deserted his first wife, Mabel Annie Hiscock, and fled to Australia where he changed his name to Gordon Neville and married my Great Grandmother. She died not long after my Grandfather was born and William Thomas Pauline disappeared, leaving my Grandfather to be raised by his mothers' sister. Hence, the family has always been reluctant to discuss their heritage and certainly kept no photos.
William Thomas Pauline was certainly musical. I have not heard that he went to Kneller Hall but he joined the Royal Marines at a young age as a Band member and obtained a position as Bandmaster once he arrived in Australia. His son, my Grandfather, was also very musical and played piano for the Victorian Ballet. I will have to look into the Kneller Hall link.
I can be contacted at rosygirl@optus.net.com.au if you are willing to share any more information.
Thank you,
Rosie
Sunshine Coast, QLD Australia

Hi
I have just come across this thread, I think this William Thomas Pauline was my fathers uncle, My fathers mother was Jane Pauline, there mother was Eliza Maria Marlow, which I have a few photos of her if any one is interested, I have lots of old photos passed down to me after my father died, but have no idea who some are, I might have some early days in London of William, if anyone has a photo of William Thomas Pauline it would be helpful to see what he looked like, I was also told one of Janes brothers went to Kneller Hall of Music, London,
Joseph Peters (half brother) was just like del boy from only fools and horses,
Hope this info is helpful!!!

Looking for Hiscock family ancestors

Hi. My grandfather was Hedley Hiscock and he married Charlotte Elsie Butts from newfoundland canada but they were married in massachusetts (possibly Everett Ma where they raised their family). Hedley had a brother named Ingram. Hedley and Elsie as we called her had 2 boys named Thomas Kenneth and Eugene Clifford who both died as infants. They had 3 more children Marion, Thomas Kenneth (yes again and he was my father) and David Benjamin. I do not have any more info except for my father Thomas Kenneth. He married my mother Catherine M Miller from Everett Massachusetts. My dad Thomas was born December 7, 1936 and died October 13, 1999 and my mother was born September 6, 1940 and died August 30, 1993. They had 5 children Thomas Kenneth Jr, Eugene Clifford, Deborah Lynn, Cheryl-lee (that's me) and Robert Edwin. Can anyone help. I don't know which part of newfoundland Canada they were from.

My fathers name was Thomas Hiscock Sr and my brothers name is Thomas Hiscock Jr of Massachusetts (Everett). I'm not sure what part of newfoundland his parents came from but their names were Hedley Hiscock and Charlotte Elsie (as evereyone called her) Hiscock. Their other children were Thomas Kenneth and Eugene Clifford who both died as children and my father was named after his brother Thomas and also has a brother David and a sister Marion. I'm trying to figure out some of my family since everyone I could go to is deceased. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Kal!

I am really just starting to use this site in any depth so I haven't seen the tree and it was news to me about the Native American blood. Fascinating, thanks! I can ask my grandfather Paul if he knows anything going further back or if he heard any stories about Samuel, etc. Actually, I'll have my dad (Paul's son, Greg Hescock) talk to him about it as he sees him often. I will also see if my dad can provide details about the DNA test he took, though from what I remember hearing, it was very high-level and didn't provide any details that stood out at the time. This is exciting--thanks for sharing what you know!

Hello Amber, I'm still doing research on this family. As you may be aware, family stories point towards native American blood in our family. I'm curious if your dna research indicated anything like this.

From the tree, I see Paul's Hescock/Hiscock lineage back-in-time with these generations:
Paul 1916 - Asa Carl (1883-1967) - Franklin Pierce (1854-1927)- Gustavus A (1824-1914) - Thomas (1799-1877) - Samuel (1765-1815).
Before Samuel, we don't know anything further. Stories say that his grandfather and/or great-grandfather married maidens of the Wawenoc tribe in Maine. Samuel was married at Newcastle, Lincoln County, Maine in 1789. Both he and his bride (Betsey Teague) were from Walpole. You can find their grave pictures on findagrave.com in the Wilton Old Town Cemetery.

Kal Perry

Hi, I posted a few years ago about my grandfather Paul. My grandfather Paul Hescock (name was supposedly Hiscock before it was changed) is from Maine (I've been to the Maine farm where he grew up)--he moved to Massachusetts as a young man. He is now 95 and in Framingham, MA. He had many siblings. He was very close to a brother named Merle.

I'm trying to round up all the members of Foxtrot Battery, Second Battalion, Eleventh Marine Regiment for a reunion in San Diego this coming October. Could you please pass on this message to him?
