Note: Hinkle is spelled both "LE" and "EL" in documents

I have been researching my Hinkle line for years and it has been a conTinous source of my brick walls. I have gone back to my 2nd great grandfather, John Hinkle (Abt 1848-1924), but am stuck on his father, Jacob. I know little about him. He lived in Schuylkill County, PA when his son, John was born in about 1848 and moved to Northumberland County in about 1857 (according to John's obit).

John's death certificate lists his father as Jacob Hinkel, mother unknown. I'm searching for Jacob, his wife, and the rest of his family.

I have access to the US records here on Ancestry, but nothing has lead to Jacob's family, so far.

George Jacob Hinkle (1910-1988) m. Nancy Hancock (1912-1986)
