I know this post is years old, but hoping I can connect with my family. My 2nd great grandfather was John Hinkel, born in Schuylkill County in about 1848. Died in 1924. His father was Jacob Hinkel, mother unknown. This gives me a lea and hope this could be my ancestor. .

Further information on John: (Abt 1848-1924) born in Schuylkill County, moved to Northumberland County, married Elizabeth Thompson. They had 7 or 8 children, including my great grandfather, Jacob Hinkle (1879-1943).

Hinkel was spelled both with an EL and LE in my line. Is this Jacob in this post John's father?
