I have Ephraim E (probably Elliott) Hill, said to be of Ohio, who in 1830 married Elizabeth May of Floyd County, KY. That's east of Lexington, in the mtns. She was born 1811. They left KY and her 13 siblings.
BIG GAP.
Next I have their son (my great-grandfather) Galen Elliott Hill born about 1856 in/near St. Joseph, MO (on Kansas border). Their other children: Catherine (Kate), Sarepta (Serepta) and Rachel R. who both married Campbells and were in OK after 1893), Carrie (Caroline), Christopher (Crit), Samuel.
I know nothing more about them, but Gale did name his only son George Elliott Hill, born 1886 in Deadwood, SD, served in WWI in France, was a highway engineer for state of MO until 1953, lived Blue Springs, Jackson County, MO, died a bachelor 1967. The name "George" has come down 2 more generations via Gale's daughter May Hill Wilcox of SD.
Hope this is helpful to somebody, and be glad to hear from anyone with info to "fill" my "big gap".
Gale Hill died 1891 in Middlepark, Colorado (near Denver) on trip, but we don't know who he was going to see or where they actually lived.
