My great-grandfather was Galen Elliott Hill born abt 1856 in/near St. Joe, MO to Elliott Hill and Elizabeth May (some relative of SD lawman D. Boone May). Died 1881, wife Nettie Winn soon died, Deadwood, SD, leaving 2 small children, so very little family history came down on Hill family.

No other knowledge of parents.

Have heard that siblings were CATHERINE (Kate), Sarepta (Serepta) and Rachel R. who married Campbell brothers and are found in OK after 1893, Carrie, Christopher (Crit) Samuel, Galen (Gale).

I've had small luck on Hill,May or Elliott lists, so am pursuing Campbell right now to get back to Hill. Associate surname is Webb for Webb Hill of Rapid City, SD til 1950's.

Am also going to check out a Jennie Serepta Campbell's ancestry because her dad is listed as Richard GALEN Campbell b. 1866. Wife was Carrie Belle DANIEL, d/o Josiah GAMBLE Daniel and Arminta Jane DUKE. No places given.
