YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nettie G. Hilbun, 99, passed away Thursday morning at Park Vista Retirement Community.

She was born July 12, 1911, in Whitter, N.C., a daughter of Robert Edney and Frannie Blanton Gibson.

Nettie came to this area in 1998 from the Florida area. She was a Presbyterian and an avid golfer and bridge player.

Nettie was married to Ollie Hilbun in Knoxville, Tennessee, in June 1932 and he passed away in August of 1980.

She leaves a son, James (Linda) Hilbun of Cortland, Ohio; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie; a son, Charles Hilbun; four sisters; and five brothers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Contributions may be given to Hospice of the Valley.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Szabo & Sons Funeral Home.
