Hello everyone my name is Patricia Higareda I am the 9th child of Jesus Higareda Gil and Eulalia Higareda Ayala Oseguera. So from the only things I've been able to find out, my grandpa(Fidel Higareda) deceased many years ago told my unlce Luis Higareda Gil(Deceased 07/24/2005) that we came from Vasco, Spain,and my grandmother(Maria Del Refugio Higareda Gil)never talked about it. I really never asked because I was younger. So I decided to ask my dad and he said that he really didn't know about where my grandfather came because my grandfather was murdered when my dad was only a couple of months old. My dad is from San Pedro, Michoacan very close to Sahuayo. I've been living in Fresno, California since I was seven so I really haven't had the chance to speak to my family members in Michoacan, Mexico. From what i have heard the older generations are passing away and not passing down the history. So if any one can tell me more about it would be greatly appreciated. My sibling names are from oldest to youngest. Maria Del Refugio Maravilla Higareda married Wenselado Maravilla and had four children. David, Wenselado, Maria del Refugio, and Guadalupe. Fidel Higareda Ayala married Berta(don't remember her last name)Have three children. Fidel, Jaqueline and kevin. Jesus Higareda Ayala married Patricia(don't remember her last name) Have five children. Julio Cesar, Andres, Jonathan, Fatima and Caroline. Bertha Alicia Higareda Ayala divorced(father to my nephews) Santiago Cervantes. Had three children. Omar Santiago, Giovanni and Christopher. Luis Higareda Ayala had three kids with past wife (Luis Antonio, Michelle and Christopher. With wife Blanca Adamaris Guadalupe and one on the way. Lilia Higareda Ceja married Luis Ceja Manso and they have four children, Luis Ariam, Jasmine, Caren and Ashley. My brother Antonio Higareda Ayala has no kids.
My sister Elia Higareda Ayala has no kids.
And I have no kids. Some of my great nephews and nieces already have kids of there own. Some of my family still resides in San Pedro, while some of us live in Fresno, Ca, New York and Texas.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, I would really love to know more about my family.

Hello my name is Krystel Rae Higareda my father is Francisco Higareda "pancho" I am not sure where to start but I know little of my dad since he had a family of his own before he met my mom I am not sure of my story but know that I wished more about my dad and was in each other lifes. I remember very little about him too. I did meet my neice Olivia Ortiz daughter of Teresa Higareda-Ortiz who is my half-sister. I would love to know all about my dad his parents his step sisters and brothers everything there is to know. I unfortunally do not know spanish so i cannot understand some post i have read I was not sure if this was the correct Hiareda but I know michoacan is where he was from and happen to see a post with his name. again any info is a great help thanks

Hi, im Danny Sanchez jr. grandson of Agustin Rojas Higareda and great grandfather is Jose Maria Higareda and great grandmother Mercedes Higareda, my mother is Irma Dalia Sanchez"higareda" father Daniel Torres Sanchez ,we live in northern part of ca. ¡Hola a todos los Higaredas! Me da mucha alegría que estén buscando sobre nuestros orígenes. Recientemente agregue un árbol genealógico en mi perfil, espero lo visiten y vean sobre el historia de mi familia (los Higaredas). Voy a tratar de investigar más sobre los descendientes de mi Abuelo. Lo cierto es que tengo familiares de Sahuayo que son Higaredas pero no les conozco.

Espero y pongan más información sobre sus descendientes, en particular sobre los descendientes de sus padres. Juntos ataremos cabos y veremos como enlazar más sobre nuestros orígenes. Ánimo y pregúntenle a sus familiares.

My grandmother is named Maria Theresa Higarreda and she is originally from Sahuayo, Michoacan...her brothers and sisters are the same as mentioned by yvette08 ....my grandfather was originally from Sahuayo his name was Juan Rosas...

Gusto saber todos los Higaredas que han salido, mi papa es Guillermo Higareda nacido en el cerrito pelon o Cotijaran, criado en Sahuayo, Michoacan. Su papa era Evaristo Higareda. Segun mi papa, la familia era muy rica y pasaban costales de oro de Huaracha a Cotijaran. Ellos tenian una hacienda, toda su familia paterna (mas de 30 primos hermanos) se crio en Cotijaran. Mis vacaciones de niña era visitar Huaracha (Emiliano Zapata), Sahuayo, Villamar, y Jiquilpan.

A mi tambien me interesa mucho saber un poco mas de la Familia desafortunadamente mis Papas y Abuelos ya no estan, todos somos de Sahuayo. Mi abuelo paterno se llamaba Apolonio Cabezas y creo que se apellidaba Higareda o mi abuela materna era Higareda? ella se llamaba Dolores Alcaraz, si alguien sabe algo o los conocio dejenme saber.

Olga, I'm replying to the picture posted. I have the same picture. My Grandfather is the person on the far left with the squared jacket (penelton). His name is Francisco "Pancho" Higareda. My mom's name is Josefa Sanchez, daughter of Francisco Higareda Victor and Maria Avila, both of Sahuayo. My mom said her father had two brothers and two sisters and they are, Julia, Luis, Santiago and Josefina. Josefina still lives in Sahuayo and will sometimes visit Calexico and Riverside. Josefina's husband is Francisco Cervantes. Getting back to that picture. We have the same picture and the story behind it is that it was taken in New York, US. He was a Bracero. My Grandfather stated that he would come to New York with his Family. He named Clemente, and others. They had a riddle they'd say, "Gracias a dios que nos dio un pan que comer sin medecerlo, lo mereceriamos a la vez que no los dio, siscale como no." The last person would say, "maralo que chistoso, ba, que morca..." Or something like that. They would say this when they worked in the U.S. I attached the same picture I have.

my grandmother is from michoacan and her maidden last name is Higareda. My dad had mentioned to me my grandmother's father side (Higareda) has some European, reason why he has color eyes, I wonder if this is true. Do you anything about Higareda's being associated somewhere in Europe? thats would be great to know

My Grandfather's name is Enrique Higareda González and his descendants were from Spain... My Grandfather's Father name was Enrique Higareda married with Teresa González.

Hi, I'm an Higareda too!!! Wow, I'm shocked to hear there are so many Higareda's out there! Well, my father Jose Antonio Higareda AKA Che passed away many years ago in 1989. So, don't know too much on the family. What I do remember is his parents Trino Higareda and I don't recall my grandmother's name but her maiden name is Gudino. Both passed away in a fire when my father was very young. They owned a shoe factory in Sahuayo which burned down and caused their death. They had several children: Marika, Dolores, Trino, Francisco and I don't remember their other names. If you know any information about my family i'd love to get in contact with them. Hi..there are so many Higareda's..my mom is actually trying to find her cousins. Her father's name was Jose Higareda Chavez,Her mother's name was Maria Martinez.He had a brother named Enrique Higareda chavez. Enrique had kids and my mom never saw her cousins, this is about 35 years ago, so if anyone know anything about this family please let me know. Enrique's wife's name was Cleotilde Villasenor..daughters are Araceli Higareda Villasenor, Sergio, Luis Enrique. I believe they curretly live in southern California.

Hello. I'm glad to know that someone out there is seeing and reading this message board. Thanks for posting your message.

The picture, that you find a close resemblance to, is of my dad (Abelardo) taken in the late 1930's. He grew up in a town called Patzcuaro (between Morelia and Uruapan), which is southeast of Sahuayo.

What are the names of your father and grandfather? Please share any details that you can. If nothing else, there is a strong "Higareda" likeness. Take care.

Hello Joaquin. I don't have any specific information that can help you but I do want to encourage you in your search. Like most of us here, we have lots of questions about our family. The one thing that units us all is our last name. Does your mom talk about your dad (like where they meet)? Do you know anything about your grand-parents (on your dad's side)? Keep asking questions of family member who may know some additional details. I wish you the best in your search.

Hey Agustín. Thanks for posting your message. You know, sometimes names sound familiar and they get one to think whether you know that person or not. Thought I must say that Abelardo does not sound like a very common name. I really like the old fashion names of Bartholomeo, Anastasio, Agapito, Lugarda, Casimira, Leocadia - you just don't hear these names that often any more. I'm glad you found the picture interesting too...my dad was a handsome man ;-)

Hi Araceli. Wow! You know quit a bit about the family history. It sounds like you have a special bond with your sister. It's interesting how a death in the family can sometimes bring people closer together. After my mom passed away, I started to be more in contact with my sister (Ellie). When my dad passed away, I realized the importance of family and staying together...it's so easy to go our own separate ways. Wouldn't it be nice to always have our family together all the time. I love my mom and dad and commend them to God's care always. Thanks again for sharing.

I never knew my grandfather (or for that matter my grandmother) on my father's side - I never heard my dad talk about his parents. Oh, how I wish that I could go back in time and ask lots of questions and record all this information in which I am now interested in and search for hungrly. I agree with you that it is great to see how many Higareda are out there searching for other Higaredas. Please read some of the other posts on here and you will see some history about the Higaredas in Michoacan. If you can, start your own family history and ask your mom about her siblings (your aunts and uncle). My biggest regret is not talking to my parents about our family roots until it was too late and they both are now deceased. Talk to your cousins too and get hooked on their family surname. A mi lo más interesante de todo es de que el Apellido HIGAREDA es muy común en el estado de Michoacán, o más bien somos pocos los que tenemos ese Apellido y solo en Algunas partes del Estado.

Traten de investigar bien puesto que el Papá y la Mamá de mi Abuelo son de descendientes Españoles y Franceses, la Mamá de mi Abuelito era de sangre española por la cual mi Abuelo tiene el Apellido González y por el Papá de mi Abuelo el Apellido Higareda, sin embargo, aún no estoy seguro de donde proviene exactamente ese Apellido si de Españo o de Francia, que se yo!

Si mal no recuerdo el Papá de mi Abuelito se llamaba también Enrique Higareda, sobrino de Rafael Higareda (quien ya murió)y vivió en los Estados Unidos al grado que también estuvo en el ejercito para el País, se fué a México y se estableció allá, también recibía cada mes un cheque por parte del Gobierno de los EEUU por que fué militar.

Afortundamente tuve el privilegio de conocer a varios de los Tíos de mi Abuelito, voy a preguntar acerca de todos esos nombre y ya les mantendré informado.

my name is Araceli Higareda my fathers name is Enrique Chavez Higareda he was called kike and i believe that he has a sister named theresa and brother federico he also has other siblings which i dont recall their names at this time but i will talk to my father and find out He also had a cousin name Cuca.We are all from sahuayo michoacan.Our mother was a Villasenor.She is deceased.Good luck to us all.

This is really interesting. My mother was Higareda from Sahuayo, Michoacan. I've always been curious about this last name since I've come to learn that it's not a very common last name. Is there anything more you can tell me about it? I'm very, very curious.
