I talked to Mom about this today. I found out that she didn't know much about Charles as he died when she was only
7 yrs old. She did remember that he drank a lot, and that the only one who could control him when he was drunk was Mom's grandmother. Mom knew his wife Willie quite well.
Mom & her brother went to school in Avondale,not Newark as I thought before. I have some photos that were taken at the ranch back in early 1900's.

Regarding your data on the Hicks Field, would it be possible
for me to have a copy? I have read a lot about WWI and have been trying to find info on the local airfields that were in use at that time, but haven't had much luck to date. I have an old Ft.Worth newspaper that has an article about the big Flu epidemic and tells about the fliers being restricted to the base at Talifero Field. Wasn't it south of town?
