Mrs. Laura White
Laura Alice White, daughter of Silas Adam Hiatt and Martha Harriet Hiatt was born at Toledo, Ill. April 28, 1867 and died at Ellensburg, Wash. April 11, 1949, at the age of 81 years 11 months and 1 day.
She was married to William Jasper White September 28, 1882.
Four children survive, Charlie N. White of Abilene, Silas L. White of Ames Iowa, Mrs. Chelsea Hale, Dalhart, Texas, and Mrs. Hattie M. Cowen of Thorp, Wash. with whom she was making her home at the time of her death.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren.
Mrs. White embraced Christianity at an early age. Faithful in attendance at church and Sunday school, she was a concientious worker in all religious endeavor. During the last years of her life she was adherent of the Pentecostal faith.
Mr. and Mrs. White moved from Illinois to Oklahoma in 1898. They lived there about 15 years then moved to New Mexico for awhile then to Abilene where Mr. White died December 13, 1927. Mrs. White moved to Colorado for awhile and on to Washington.
Funeral services were held at Tufts-Danner Funeral home with the Rev. C.A. Platz officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Susie Thompson and John Biegert and Miss Jane Sellers.
Pallbearers were E.E. Cavender, Carl Thurber, Art Schmutz, George Buhler, Fred Barber and John Hesselbarth.
