Classification: Immigration
Surnames: Hevenor/Heavenor/Hevener
I thought I could lend a hand to any of you who are trying to reaserch the Hevenor family. First of all there are many forms of the name Hevenor/Heavenor/Hevener, but there is only one family. It was started by Henrich Herbener & Apolonia Hebenhorne, 1709. They belong to a group of Germans known as the Palantines'. These 700 familes were disposesed of their land in 1709, and immigrated to Britian in that same year. Britian promptly sent them over to the US as colonists were they became known as the Pensilvanian Dutch. However, a small minority of Palantines were sent to Ireland, and the Hevenor family was one of them. When the patatoe famin hit, the Palantines left Ireland for Canada & the US.
