GIRARD – Melvin Hetrick, 73, passed away Friday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Melvin was born on Oct. 16, 1940, in Heathville, Pa., a son of Rudolph Hetrick and Clara Hetrick.
He was a graduate of Hubbard High School. In his spare time he enjoyed to work on all types of cars and loved to watch racing.
He will be remembered by his wife of 33 years, Carol (Martin) Hetrick, whom he married in 1981; two daughters, Patty (Rick) Crowell of Georgia and Melissa Hetrick of Florida; four sons, James (Laura) Ferraro of Austintown, Ohio, John (Pam) Ferraro of Girard, Ohio, Ronald Ferraro of Girard, and Bill Ferraro of Girard; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, William Hetrick of Brookfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Arden L. Hetrick.
Funeral services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren-Sharon Road, Brookfield, OH 44403 on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m.
Friends and family may call Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Interment will take place at Girard City Cemetery at a later date.
