Just sluthing a bit this morning looking for siblings of my 2g gm Sarah Emma Taylor. So, you might ask, what does she have to do with Hesser?
Well, the 1870 census p 20, Richland, Jay Co, IN shows Mary Taylor 14, servant, (& Ida Belle (12) & Cora? (10) as Taylor-surnamed grandchildren), living with Samuel (b VA) and Elizabeth (b OH) Herres (should be Hesser) nee Caylor, ages 60. Elizabeth is the maternal aunt of my Sarah Emma Taylor and her sister Mary E. Taylor through their parents Robert Taylor & Rebecca Taylor nee Caylor; Robert died about 1863 in Jay Co. I am not sure about Rebecca.
In 1870 my Sarah Emma is living nearby with another maternal aunt, Sarah Hoppes nee Caylor as "apprentice".
That is a long-winded way of suggesting the Mary Taylor living with the HESSERs is my 2g grandaunt.
What is puzzling is who are Ida Belle and Cora. Cora is the right age to have also been a sister of Mary and Sarah Emma - born just after the 1860 census. But Ida Belle is a mystery. Neither of the HESSER's daughters married a TAYLOR so that can't be it. The only unaccounted-for daughter of Robert and Rebecca was named Nancy Ellen Taylor b abt 1858. I think she is the mysterous Ida Belle.
I also saw on the Alvarez tree that Emma B. Taylor b 1858 married a CURRENT. Any connection?
